Not all manufacturing companies have a large facility to contain abundant amounts of inventory. Some manufacturing companies can hardly contain any inventory at all. This could very easily cause major problems throughout an organization. Fortunately the founder of Toyota and his engineer came up with a solution to solve this problem. This solution is called Just in Time (JIT) Inventory solution.

Just in Time is a solution in where a system is put in place to have each order becomes a special order. The product is ordered, and then the schedule is arranged to ensure the end product is built correctly. These arrangements ensure the necessary parts are where they need to be at exactly the right moment in the production line as the product is built. There can be devices put in place to allow the option to stop the production line at any time if a product is not available when it is needed. Usually once this system is implemented and understood this kind of device would rarely be applied.

This system has caused a large amount of success for manufacturers. Not only can this system eliminate problems caused with cramped space but it has other advantages such as reduction in inventory warehousing staff. When manufacturers house inventory there are usually employees and managers in charge of keeping track of inventory along with storing and pulling inventory. With implementing JIT Inventory software these positions are eliminated which in turn eliminate payments to those employees.
